The RPC staff is trained and available to help communities, organizations and families by providing technical assistance in areas such as: strategic planning; educational presentations; youth and adult trainings; risk and resource assessments; evaluation; grant writing; and program development and implementation.

RPC staff members are certified trainers for a variety of programs and trainings, including: S.P.I.C.E.line; Communities That Care; Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS);Guiding Good Choices; PRIME For Life: Under 21; PRIME for Life for Parents; Stolen Moments; and many others. Most programs and trainings are offered at the request of a group or organization. Some are offered on a periodic general basis.

  • SPICEline Training: S.P.I.C.E. stands for Senior Prevention Intervention Counseling Education. SPICEline is a one day training on the mismanagement of medications and substance abuse in older adults.
  • Communities That Care: a program that helps communities organize and involve all community members who have a stake in healthy futures for young people. CTC helps set priorities for action; strengthens funding applications; defines clear, measurable outcomes; identifies gaps and evaluates progress of coalitions interested in making prevention a priority in their community.
  • Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS), On Premise: TIPS for On Premise was designed for people who sell alcohol for on premise consumption at restaurants or lounges. This program is designed to assist waiters, waitresses, and bartenders with helping people enjoy drinking responsibly and handle unpleasant situations involving people who have already had too much to drink.
  • Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS), Off Premise: TIPS for Off Premise was designed for people who sell alcohol for off premise consumption from grocery, convenience, and liquor stores. This program is designed to instill confidence in participants to step into situations so that alcohol is sold to consumers responsibly and legally.
  • Guiding Good Choices: a multimedia program that gives parents of children in grades 4 through 8 the knowledge and skills needed to guide their children through early adolescence.
  • PRIME for Life Under 21: an eight hour program for youth ages 13-20 who are already engaged in high-risk drinking or drug use or who are in a group that is likely to begin high-risk behaviors.
  • PRIME for Life for Parents: a program were parents learn how to influence the choices of their children and reduce their risk.
  • Stolen Moments Seminar: a four hour educational and supportive program designed to assist youth and parents to understand the motivations for stealing and the potential consequences of repeated offenses.

RPC staff can also come on-site and make presentations to communities and groups that are addressing specific problem issues. Some of the issues RPC staff have presented on in the last year have included: substance abuse prevention; underage drinking; tobacco prevention and cessation; ecstasy and other club drugs; meth, and much more.
